Coaching What is a Coach? A “trusted role model, adviser, wise person, friend, Mensch, steward, or guide—a person who works with emerging human and organizational forces to tap new energy and purpose, to shape new visions and plans, and to generate desired results. A coach is someone trained and devoted to guiding others into increased competence, commitment, and confidence.” Frederic Hudson
In short, a Coach is confidante who helps close the gap between where you are and where you want to be in life.
The process of working to close this gap is coaching which is defined as an ongoing relationship which focuses on the client taking action towards the realization of his/her visions, goals or desires. Coaching uses a process of inquiry and personal discovery to build the client’s level of awareness and responsibility and provides the client with structure, support and feedback.
What you should know about me as your coach. I have completed 50 hours of training as a personal and executive coach at the prestigious College of Executive Coaching, a post-graduate institution. I employ the (CAAACS) model in order to get the most out of each coach-client relationship. CAAACS is an acronym for Connection, Assessment (formal or informal), Articulation, Action, Commitment and Support. As such I am certified in several psychometric assessments including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator © (MBTI©) and MBTI© Step II, Firo-B, Spectrum CPI-260, and the Bar-On EQ-i and EQ 360. I am also a member of the International Coach Federation.
